About the player
Zoltán Medgyes came through his own club's academy rather than arriving from outside: after starting out at Rákosmente and Monor, he joined the Haladás Szombathely academy in 2008 and worked his way into the first team, where he stayed from 2014 to 2021. Rather than settling straight into senior football, he spent those years shuttling out on loan — spells at Mezőkövesd, Dorog and Siófok.
Gyirmót finished sixth in NB II in 2023–24, enough to keep their place in the division, before Medgyes moved on. In July 2024 he signed for Budapest Honvéd on a free transfer, taking the number 23 shirt.
He also earned caps at under-17 and under-20 level, but a senior call-up has not followed.
