AN Francescato

Ivan Francescato's name now sits on the club that grew out of an amateur rugby side formed in Parma in 1931. The team goes by I Gialloblù, the yellow-blues.

Three Italian Championships, won in 1949–50, 1954–55 and 1956–57, gave the club a place in the domestic game. The next silverware arrived decades later, three Coppa Italia wins across 2005–06, 2007–08 and 2008–09, with a Supercoppa Italiana added in 2008.

Matches are played at the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi, known for years as the Stadio XXV Aprile, in front of crowds that fit inside its 5,000 seats. Derby day against Amatori Rugby Parma still carries the weight of a split within the same city, while Calvisano remains the opponent that measures a season nationally. Players such as Tito Tebaldi and Giovanbattista Venditti passed through the club on their way to wider recognition in Italian rugby, carrying the gialloblù shirt before moving into the professional structures that eventually absorbed the top level of the sport in Parma. What began in 1931 as a city club is what the Francescato name now continues.
