The founding year was 1884.

Still, there was 1940. Aryan beat Mohun Bagan 4–1 in the IFA Shield final, a scoreline that stayed in the telling long after the players had gone. The Shield came back in 1983, this time shared with East Bengal after a goalless final that neither side could break. Between those two dates the club filled its cabinet elsewhere — the Cooch Behar Cup five times, the Bordoloi Trophy in successive years in the mid-1960s — and by the 1990s it was winning promotion from the Second Division of the Calcutta Football League rather than trophies.

The Techno India Group took the club over towards the end of the 2000s, and the name on the badge became Techno Aryan FC.

Home is the East Bengal Ground on the Kolkata Maidan, the wide sweep of open turf where the city's clubs have always played. Aryan shares it with East Bengal — the ground carries both names — and on the days it fills, 23,500 people are packed onto a pitch that sits in the middle of a public park.
