The men's side has never won the Eliteserien title, coming closest with silver in 2016/17 and bronze finishes in 1986/87 and 2013/14. The women's section tells a different story. Through the 1980s and 1990s it was the dominant force in Norwegian handball, taking the league in 1983/84, 1991/92, 1994/95 and 1998/99, and adding cup wins in 1994, 1996/97 and 1998/99. That generation, built around players like Anja Andersen and Kjersti Grini, carried the club onto the European stage, winning the EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 1997/98 and 1998/99, and reaching the European Champions Trophy final both times.
