Brackley Town

Christian Pulisic wore the shirt of Brackley Town, turning out for the youth side in 2005–06. The club he passed through kept climbing without him: from Manor Road, its ground until 1968, to Buckingham Road, and finally to St James Park in 1974.

The bigger story came later. In May 2018, Brackley Town went to Wembley for the FA Trophy final against Bromley and drew 1–1, with Adam Rooney among the scorers, before winning 5–4 on penalties. Promotion through the pyramid followed in stages — the Southern League Premier Division in 2012, then step by step upward — before the 2024–25 season delivered the National League North title and, with it, a first-ever place in the National League.

Paul Warrington's 320 goals for the club stand as the record, a tally built over years rather than a single purple patch, and Glenn Walker holds the appearance record. Andy Whing took over as manager in February 2026, inheriting a side now playing at a higher level than at any point since 1890. Kettering Town remain the fixture that matters most locally, the Northamptonshire derby that strips away league position and form.

The Saints, in their red and white, still play there.
