Como's clearest piece of silverware arrived in 2008, when a Serie D title was followed by the Coppa Serie D itself: a 3-1 aggregate win over Collegiana completed the double. Como has never won Serie A itself, nor the Coppa Italia.

Founded in 1907, Como had waited 21 years for another season in Serie A when it returned in 2024 with Cesc Fàbregas in the dugout. Fàbregas took the job that year and also holds a minority stake in the club; Andrea Belotti, a Euro 2020 winner, arrived from Roma the same summer.

Across western Lombardy, the fixture that matters most is against Varese, known locally as the Derby dell'Insubria. An older rivalry, with a club called Esperia, ended in 1927 when the two sides merged into Associazione Calcio Comense.

Home games are played at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, which holds 13,602, in front of supporters known locally as the Comasini, cheering on a side that plays in royal blue and white.
