FC Tallinn

When FC Infonet disappeared into a merger with Levadia in November 2017, Lasnamäe was left without a senior football club of its own. A group from the district decided to start again from nothing, and FC Tallinn took its first steps not in a cup final but in the fifth tier of Estonian football.

Andrei Kalimullin has been there since that first season, first as a player and then as manager of the side he helped build. He arrived already holding the record for appearances in the Estonian championship, more than 500 of them, and stayed on to run a club starting from nothing.

The climb went one division at a time: the III liiga title in 2019, then the Esiliiga B title in 2022, which carried the club up into the Esiliiga, one tier below the Estonian top flight. Viktor Plotnikov scored 18 goals in that promotion season.

Home matches are played on the artificial pitch at the Lasnamäe sports complex, a ground that holds 264 people. The closest thing to a rivalry runs against TJK Legion, another club from the same district, and against Tallinna Kalev, whom locals sometimes call a Tallinn derby opponent even though the city's real derby belongs to Flora and Levadia — it was Kalev who ended FC Tallinn's best run in the Estonian Cup, a 5-0 win in the 2024/25 quarterfinal.
