Gjilani

Drita traces its identity to the Albanian national movement; Gjilani carries the disputed inheritance of FK Crvena Zvezda Gnjilane, a club founded in the city in 1945 under Yugoslav rule. Between 1945 and 1995 the club effectively split in two, with Albanian-community sides playing in parallel leagues. What exists today was rebuilt in 1995 under Afrim Kçiku, its first president, on the premise that it stood in direct line from the 1945 side. The two ultras groups, Skifterat for Gjilani and Intelektualët for Drita, fill the ground for the derby.

Skifterat, formed in 1999, has shaped more than the atmosphere. Gjilani played in red and white from 1995, switched to purple and light blue in 2000, and reverted to the original colours at the group's urging ahead of the 2008/09 season.
