Grästorps IK spent 2024–25 back in HockeyEttan, Sweden's third tier.
The recovery from that has come in stages rather than a straight line. Division 2 was won in 2009–10, Division 1E followed in 2011–12, and by 2021–22 Grästorp were dominant enough in Division 2 to finish top of the table, setting up the return to HockeyEttan three years later.
None of this reaches back to the club's actual peak, which came decades earlier: in 1968–69 Grästorp played in Division 2 when that was still the second tier of Swedish hockey, finishing 11th in the West B group. It remains the highest level the club has ever reached.
Grästorp carry a heart on the jersey and are known locally as the club with the heart in the right place.
