The club now known as Hapoel Ironi Baqa al-Gharbiya did not start with a clean slate in 2010. It picked up a name that had already gone through one life: the original Hapoel Baqa al-Gharbiya was formed in 1966 and ran until 2002, when it folded out of Liga Bet. Eight years later a new club took the same identity.
It did not stay there long. The re-formed side won the Liga Gimel Samaria title in its first season, 2010–11, then followed it with the Liga Bet North B championship in 2014–15.
Matches are played at the Baqa al-Gharbiyye Municipal Stadium, a ground that holds 3,700.
Oded Kadusi is the name most attached to the club's better days on the pitch.
