Llangennech

Terry Davies played his youth rugby at Llangennech before going on to win caps for Wales and a place on a British & Irish Lions tour as a full-back. Rhys Gabe had already made the same journey decades earlier, captaining Wales and touring with the Lions in 1904–05, and Idwal Davies followed him into a Wales jersey in 1939 before his son, Brian, won three caps at centre in the early 1960s.

The club was founded in 1885 as Bois y Llan, "boys of the valley," a name still used for the sides at Park Field on Pontardulais Road. Division 8A West in 1994–95, Division 7 West two years later, Division 5 West in 1997–98, then Division 3 West at the turn of the millennium. Between those climbs came a West Wales Rugby Union Cup in 2004–05.

The most recent of those titles arrived in 2022–23, when Llangennech won WRU Division 1 West. Black shirts and white shorts remain the constant through all of it, as does Park Field itself, still the ground the promotions were won from.
