Narberth RFC

The Pembrokeshire Derby against Crymych, Whitland, Newcastle Emlyn and Pembroke is what marks Narberth's calendar.

What Narberth have won tends to arrive after a wait. Promotion came via the WRU Division One West title in 2013–14, and the seasons that followed in the National Championship read like a club circling the top without quite landing there: sixth, then ninth, then third, then second in 2017–18, then third again. The championship itself finally came in 2023–24, when the club took the WRU National Championship West.

The 2008–09 season went the other way. Narberth reached the Welsh Cup final and lost it to Cardiff RFC.

The club's name recurs in the biography of players who moved on. Brian Williams started at Narberth before his career took him to Neath and, eventually, five caps for Wales. Narberth now sits in the Scarlets' catchment as a feeder club, and two more recent academy graduates, Fraser Jones and Macs Page, both won Wales Under-20 honours before Jones went to Cardiff RFC and Page's path led toward the Scarlets.

Matches are played at the Lewis Lloyd Ground, where the 500-seat stand fills for the derbies that matter most. Having taken the West title in 2024, Narberth go into the season.
