Nõmme United

Nõmme is the pine-forest suburb of Tallinn. Founded in 2000 by Enn Loog as FC Elion, the club took the Nõmme United name only in 2006, by which point it had also become tied to the football school run by Mart Poom, the former Estonia goalkeeper who serves as club president.

The pattern since has been climb, drop, climb again. Nõmme United won Esiliiga B, the third tier, in 2019, then the second-tier Esiliiga in 2023 to reach the Meistriliiga for the first time in its history. The stay lasted one season: bottom place in 2024 sent the club straight back down. It answered by winning Esiliiga again in 2025 and returning to the top flight at the first attempt. In the Estonian Cup, the furthest it has gone is a quarter-final, reached that same 2024 campaign. Home games are played at Männiku, a 1,000-capacity ground.

The current squad leans heavily on players brought in from outside Estonia. Simon Gaiger, a Swiss defender who joined in 2026, became the first player from Switzerland to appear in the Meistriliiga. Zambian forward Benjamin Chisala finished as Esiliiga's top scorer in the 2025 promotion season, and Georgian midfielder Zakaria Beglarishvili has carried the scoring load in the club's second attempt at the top division. Sławomir Cisakowski, who previously coached Lithuania's Rytas and Everton's academy sides, was appointed head coach for the 2025–26 season.
