Parceiro Nagano

Nagano's fiercest fixture sits barely an hour down the road, against Matsumoto Yamaga, and the two sides have turned it into the Shinshu Derby.

The club did not start out as a rival to anyone in particular. A trademark dispute over that name forced a rebrand in 2007, and the club emerged as AC Nagano Parceiro, taking its new name from the Portuguese word for partner.

Promotion arrived through the Japan Football League, which Parceiro won in 2013, earning a place in the newly created J3 League the following year and finishing runners-up in that inaugural campaign. Yuji Unozawa carried much of the scoring load through those years, finishing as the club's all-time top scorer with 81 goals before he retired in 2019.

Orange and dark blue, the colours chosen at the very beginning to represent Nagano Prefecture itself, still mark the kit today.
