Eight titles in the Qatar Stars League have gone to Qatar SC. Between 1966–67 and 1970–71 the club took the league five years running.

The club traces back to 1959, formed from the merger of two Doha sides, Al-Oruba and Al-Nasour, and spent spells afterward under the name Al-Esteqlal before settling on Qatar SC.

Since the mid-1990s the trophies have come in smaller competitions rather than the league: the Qatar Sheikh Jassem Cup four times, the Crown Prince Cup three times, and a single Qatari Stars Cup in 2014. The Suheim bin Hamad Stadium, holding 12,000, has stayed the club's ground through both eras.
