Globe Life Field opens its roof over Arlington on days the Texas heat would otherwise decide the game before the first pitch, a structure built for a ballpark that seats around 40,300. It was there, in 2023, that Corey Seager batted his way to a World Series Most Valuable Player award as the Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks for the club's first championship since the franchise arrived in Arlington in 1972.

Two earlier trips to the World Series, in 2010 and 2011, had ended in defeat, first to the San Francisco Giants and then to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Arlington sits close enough to Houston that the rivalry with the Astros has picked up its own name, the Silver Boot Series, a fixture that gives the regular season an edge it would not otherwise have against a division rival in Seattle or Oakland. The Rangers have taken the AL West seven times, in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016.
