Real Astromal Leszno

Hala Trzynastka, on ulica Rejtana, sits attached to School No. 13. Sports classes for handball started at the school in 1992, and when Ryszard Kmiecik revived the club's handball activity in 1986, it grew out of that same inter-school sports circle. The club only became a legal entity in its own right in July 2000, registered as MKS Arot-Tęcza; it took the Real Astromal name it carries now after a second rebrand in February 2013, having already switched once before, in January 2007.

Promotion to the I Liga came on 16 April 2011, and the club has stayed at that level since. Its high point arrived in the 2018/2019 season, a second-place finish that remains the best league result in its history; two fourth-place seasons, in 2011/2012 and 2014/2015, bracket that peak. Before any of that, the club's strongest results were with its youth teams, including a win at the international tournament in Bording, Denmark, in 1998.

Maciej Wierucki is the name tied most closely to the club's identity, having captained it on court before taking over as coach and president. Matches against MKS Tęcza Folplast Kościan carry their own weight locally, known as the Derby dla Leszna.
