Swiebodzin

Świebodzin sits in Poland's Lubusz region. That hall — the Miejska Hala Sportowa, known locally as the Fortress of Świebodzin — holds just over 400 people.

The club's name reads as an acronym: Zapał, Entuzjazm, Wyniki — zeal, enthusiasm, results. It traces back to a sports society founded on 20 December 1957, with handball added to the programme in the 1960s. The senior structure most fans follow today was reconstituted in 2017.

For most of that history ZEW stayed a regional side. That changed in 2021, when the club won the II Liga in the Lower Silesian group and earned promotion to the I Liga, the second tier of Polish handball. There has been no national title, no cup run to speak of.
