Interfjord Arena sits in Skive under its sponsored name, BioCirc Arena, holding just over a thousand seated spectators with room for roughly twice that once standing areas are counted.

Skive fH itself came together in 1982, when Skive KFUM merged with Skive Håndboldklub into a single club built to carry the town's handball. What it carries now is unusually broad for its size: around 600 members spread across seven senior sides and fifty youth teams, blue and white running through all of them.

The men's team has spent the years since shuttling between the Herrehåndboldligaen and the 1. Division rather than settling in either. Promotion in 2009 led to the top flight in 2011, relegation followed in 2014, promotion came again in 2021, and relegation again in 2022. Winning the 1. Division in the 2025–26 season has now sent them back up for 2026–27, the latest turn in a pattern that keeps repeating rather than resolving.

The women's side once matched that ambition, reaching the Damehåndboldligaen in 2012 and staying three seasons before financial constraints forced a withdrawal — the club judged it could not sustain two top-division teams at once. Former coach Ryan Zinglersen said as much publicly at the time.

Local pride runs through the fixture against Mors-Thy Håndbold, known here as the lokalbrag, with TTH Holstebro supplying the other regional edge. For now, the immediate task is straightforward: making the step back into the Herrehåndboldligaen stick, after two previous attempts ended in the same drop back down.
