Zubri Women

The Zubřanky spent the 2025/26 campaign working through two competitions at once: the 2. liga žen – Morava, the regional rung below the Czech top flight, and the Český pohár žen, where the draw sent them up against TJ Jiskra Otrokovice and DHK ZORA Olomouc. Staying competitive in both is the season's real test, since Zubří's women have never held a place in the national top division.

The section traces back to 1996, founded as TJ Lesana Zubří inside a club whose men's team had already been playing top-flight handball for decades. Where the men reached the Extraliga, the women built upward through the regions: it was winning the Moravian-Silesian League, a second-tier regional competition, that earned TJ Lesaná Zubří promotion into the national 2. liga.

The stronger results have often come from the age groups below the senior side. The Older Girls team took the Laudon Cup in Nový Jičín in 2016 and turned in strong performances at the Prague Handball Cup, results the senior Zubřanky have yet to match at national level.

Matches are played at the ROBE Aréna, a 1,200-seat hall the women's team shares with the men's side, whose own trophies sit several divisions above where the Zubřanky currently play. For now, holding the 2. liga žen place and pushing further into the Cup are what the season is actually about.
