About the player
Aljaž Casar's career has been a steady climb through Slovenian, Austrian and German football. Born in Murska Sobota, he came through the youth ranks at Bakovci, ND Mura 05 and NK Maribor, then launched his senior career in the Slovenian Third League with NK Rakičan and NK Odranci.
He moved on to Germany, signing for TSG Hoffenheim II, before a switch to Hallescher FC brought him into the 3. Liga. Across two seasons at Halle he made 64 appearances and scored three goals, form that earned him a move up to the 2. Bundesliga with Dynamo Dresden in 2024.
On 2 January 2026 he signed for MSV Duisburg until June 2027, and has already made 21 appearances and scored twice for the club by September 2026.
Internationally, Casar represented Slovenia at under-21 level, earning six caps in 2021 without scoring, but has not yet featured for the senior national team.
