About the player
Kaio Jorge came through the youth ranks at Santos, breaking into the first team in 2018 and going on to win the Campeonato Paulista in 2021. He left for Juventus that August in a deal worth up to €10-12 million.
The switch to Cruzeiro in July 2024, for a fee of €7.2 million, put him back in Brazilian football. He scored the decisive goal in the semi-final against Libertad as Cruzeiro went on to win the Copa Sul-Americana that year. The following year brought the Campeonato Mineiro, where he finished as top scorer, and then the Série A title race, in which he ended 2025 as the league's leading scorer with 21 goals.
He made his debut on 4 September 2025 against Chile. He has since been named in Carlo Ancelotti's squads for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the finals themselves. The pathway to that debut ran through the Brazil under-20 side, with whom he won the South American Under-20 Championship and the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2023 — the same year he was also the top scorer in both the Série A and the Copa do Brasil while still at Santos.
