S. Cinquegrano

Simone Cinquegrano returned to Sassuolo on 29 June 2026 and made his Serie A debut two months later, on 29 August, against Atalanta. It capped a path built almost entirely inside Emilia-Romagna: after coming through the youth ranks at Fiorano and Castelvetro, both near his native Modena, he joined Sassuolo's academy in 2021 and worked his way up through the club's junior sides.

That spell in Sassuolo's youth teams brought silverware rather than headlines. Cinquegrano won the Torneo di Viareggio twice, in 2021–22 and 2022–23, and lifted the Campionato Primavera 1 title in 2023–24, a season in which he also contributed five goals and an assist in 35 appearances from right-back. The club then sent him out on loan to build senior experience: first to Rimini in Serie C for 2024–25, where he made 29 appearances plus two more and won the Coppa Italia Serie C, and then to Inter's Under-23 side for 2025–26, again in Serie C, where he featured 34 times.

Shortly after returning from that spell, on 17 September 2026, he renewed his contract with Sassuolo through to 2032, tying his long-term future to the club that developed him. A right-footed full-back capable of playing as a wing-back, he has yet to add international recognition to his list of honours, with his progress so far measured in youth trophies and loan minutes rather than senior caps.
