On 25 June 2025, Kings Hammer Columbus beat Fort Wayne FC 2-1 in USL League Two. Caleb Borneo and Jack Kossoudji scored.

Columbus lost 2-1 at home to Lexington SC on 18 May and drew 0-0 with Dayton Dutch Lions. On 1 June they conceded five to West Virginia Chaos and scored one. It had been admitted as an expansion franchise only for 2025, and Matt Ogden was appointed head coach in February, with his assistants announced in March. That left a few weeks to assemble a squad for the Valley Division of the Central Conference. Toledo Villa and Northern Indiana were also on the fixture list.

The team plays in New Albany at Eagles Stadium. The ground sits on the campus of New Albany-Plain Local Schools and is also called Veterans Field. It seats 5,040.

The name comes from Cincinnati. There, Kings Hammer FC was formed in 2013 by the merger of Kings Soccer Academy and Hammer FC, whose roots go back to 1993. It has reached the League Two playoffs twice, in 2021 and 2022. was picked by Chicago Fire FC in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, and Anthony Samways signed with Sporting Kansas City. The Columbus club is a separate entity that shares the name and the development model.
