Toledo Villa

Meagan McClelland kept goal for Toledo Villa before she signed with Carolina Ascent of the USL Super League. She later won an NWSL Championship with NJ/NY Gotham FC. Mark Bronnik followed the same path on the men's side, signing his first professional contract with Union Omaha in October 2024.

In 2017 a group of partners from Sylvania, Ohio, and Michigan started it in the Premier League of America, which folded after that single season. Toledo Villa moved to the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) for 2018. That April a new ownership group of Aaron Swiggum, Brett Stamats and David Hammack bought the club, aiming to reach the USL divisions by 2020. The team won the UPSL East Division that year but lost in the first round of the Midwest Conference playoffs.

A year in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) followed, with home games at Lyden Field at St. John's Jesuit High School. Since then the men have played in the Valley Division, apart from 2025 in the Great Forest Division. Home is now Paul Hotmer Field at the University of Toledo, with seating along the east side. The club plays in black and red, with a red shirt and black sleeves.

Derrick Mensah, a Ghanaian defender who had a trial with DC United, played here in 2023. The club has not yet won a league title, a conference championship or a playoff game in USL League Two. In 2025 it added a women's team in the USL W League's Great Lakes Division. Regional opponents such as the Dayton Dutch Lions and Cleveland Force SC are the fixtures that matter, and the Ohio Heart Cup gives the season a trophy to play for. The men are back in the Valley Division for 2026.
