Stadionul Zimbru sits at just over 10,000 seats, small enough that a youth international carries in it, and it is where the under-19s play when the senior side does not need the pitch, with Stadionul Zimbru 2 taking the overflow fixtures. The ground belongs first to the Moldovan Football Federation's senior team, and the age-group side borrows both its colours and its identity: yellow shirts, blue shorts, the same palette worn in Chișinău since the federation settled on it decades ago.

The under-19s took the field for the first time on 13 September 1994, away to Belarus in Kyustendil, Bulgaria, and did not score, but conceded. That scoreline set the tone for what has followed: the team has competed in qualifying rounds for the UEFA European Under-19 Championship without ever reaching the finals tournament.

What the age group has instead is a pipeline function. It is not a club in the usual sense but the federation's mechanism for testing players before the senior national team commits to them, which is why its own identity stays thin — no honours board, no separate nickname.

Chișinău remains the base for all of it: the federation's offices, the training ground, and Stadionul Zimbru, where a few thousand in the stands is a good crowd for a fixture that matters more for who gets picked next than for what the result says on the day.
