West Seattle Junction

The one trophy West Seattle Junction have to show is a derby. In July 2025 they beat Midlakes United and took the Lake Washington Derby, in a season that finished with the team sixth in the Northwest Division on 16 points. The win carried more weight than the table did. Midlakes are one of two Seattle-area rivals in USL League Two. The other is Ballard FC, the opponent in the "Battle for Seattle".

The club exists because a group of people who had spent more than 25 years around youth soccer in West Seattle wanted a senior team in their own neighbourhood. Jessica Pierce led them, and the club was set up in December 2023. It played its first match on 19 May 2024, a 2-2 draw with Capital FC. Jacen Stein scored the club's first goal. That first season ended fifth in the division on 17 points, short of the playoffs.

For those two seasons Erik Oman was head coach. He holds a US Soccer A licence and is Academy Director for the Washington Premier League, so the job sat alongside his work with young players. Home games are on the campus of Chief Sealth International High School, at the Nino Cantu Southwest Athletic Complex, which seats about 4,000.

The club has grown beyond the men's side. A women's team, West Seattle Rhodies FC, made its debut in the USL W League in 2025. Off the pitch the club works with the local nonprofit Lifelong and has launched the Open Goal Foundation, which aims to give young people equal access to the game.

This season, 2026, brings a change on the touchline. Mike Mata has replaced Oman as head coach. The Blues, in navy at home, also have a red, white and blue third kit, made for the 250th anniversary of the United States and as a tribute to the national team.
