André Silva

Before São Paulo, André Silva made his name in Portugal, and the highlight came against Gil Vicente: a long-range strike that was voted the Primeira Liga's Goal of the Season for 2021–22 while he was at Arouca. That goal capped a spell in which he grew from a fringe figure into a key player, scoring 18 times in 70 league appearances across the divisions for the club. It was a rise built on patience — he had arrived in Portugal in 2017 with Rio Ave, managing only two Primeira Liga appearances before the move to Arouca gave him a platform.

His performances there earned a switch to Vitória de Guimarães in July 2022, in a deal worth €1 million for 25% of his economic rights, with an option to increase that stake to 80%. He spent two seasons at the club without adding a major trophy to his record.

São Paulo signed him outright in February 2024 for €3.5 million, taking full ownership of his rights. He joined a squad that had lifted the Copa Libertadores and the Brasileirão the previous year, though both titles were won before his arrival, and he has yet to add a trophy of his own since moving to Brazil.

Born in Taboão da Serra, in São Paulo state, Silva plays as a centre-forward and wears the number 17 shirt for the club he now calls home.
