Danilo Santos

Danilo Santos was born in Salvador and passed through the youth academies of Bahia, Jacuipense and Palmeiras before signing for PFC Cajazeiras, where his senior career began.

In January 2023 he left Brazil for Nottingham Forest, where he stayed until 2025 — a spell sometimes confused in reports with that of Andrey Santos, though the two are separate players. He joined Botafogo, and has made 17 appearances for the club, scoring once and setting up four goals.

Danilo made his senior debut for Brazil in March 2026 in a friendly against Croatia, won 3-1, scoring on his first appearance. He added another goal against Panama in a 6-2 win that May. The form was enough to see him named in Brazil's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he came off the bench to make his tournament debut in a 1-1 draw against Morocco. He has earned eight caps for the national side, with two goals to his name.
