Kauan Faria Gomes made his way through Internacional's youth ranks between 2019 and 2021 before moving to Chapecoense, where he spent two more years developing before making his senior debut in 2023 in the Copa Santa Catarina and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. Rather than push straight into the first team picture, the club sent the centre-back out on a string of loans to sharpen him: first to Galo Maringá for the Campeonato Paranaense, then to Goiânia Esporte Clube for the Goianão and Série D. He returned to Chapecoense in July 2025.

That path paid off once Chapecoense won promotion. Kauan made his Série A debut against Coritiba, a first taste of the top flight after years spent away from the first-team squad building experience elsewhere. At 191 cm, he offers his side an imposing physical presence at the back, and he wears the number 21 shirt as part of the current senior group.

He has not yet collected a major title or an individual award, and a call-up to the Brazilian national team has so far eluded him. For now, his story is that of a defender assembled gradually, on loan spells rather than in the spotlight, whose debut in the top division marked the first real test of that groundwork.
