Mjolby

Peter Forsén's number five hangs retired at ProTrain Arena, alongside goaltender Andreas Hennerberg's number 23.

The team did not start life under its current name. In 1991 the ice hockey section of the multi-sport club Mjölby Södra IF, itself dating back to 1948, split off as an independent outfit called Södra HC. It kept that name for a decade before adopting Mjölby HC in 2001.

Since then the club has spent most of its life shuttling around the third tier. It held a place in Division 1 from 1999 to 2002, dropped down, climbed back for a longer run from 2008 to 2015, and was relegated again at the end of that spell. Mjölby won its way back through the promotion playoffs in 2023, returning to what is now called Hockeyettan.

Red, white and black remain the club's colours, worn in front of a home crowd that ProTrain Arena holds to around 1,800 at capacity. The task now is the same one that has defined most of the club's history: staying in Hockeyettan rather than treating it as a stop on the way back down.
