Vita Hästen

Two crosstown clubs in Norrköping, IFK Norrköping and IK Sleipner, folded their ice hockey sections together in 1967. The merged side skated for a few years as IK IFK/IKS before settling on the name everyone already used for it: Vita Hästen. The club made the name official in 1973.

A push for a place in Elitserien left the senior operation with debts of seven million kronor, and it went bankrupt in 1996. What came back started in the fifth tier under a new name, passed through a merger with Skärblacka IF and a spell as Hästen Hockey, and only reverted to HC Vita Hästen in 2006/07. From there the climb was real: titles in Division 1D and then four straight in Division 1E carried the club into HockeyAllsvenskan in 2014, and that first season back among the second tier ended in the SHL qualifiers, where Modo Hockey beat them 4-0.

The limited company running the senior team collapsed again in 2023, this time owing twelve million kronor; the team dropped back to HockeyTrean while the underlying amateur association kept the club alive.

Marcus Eriksson remains the name attached to the record books, with 583 games and 650 points for the club, and his jersey hangs retired alongside those of Rickard Rauge and Conny Gyllander.

Vita Hästen won HockeyTrean Södra D in 2023-24 and followed it with the HockeyTvåan Södra A title in 2024-25, earning a return to HockeyEttan.
