North Trafford FC took shape in Flixton in 1990, and within four years the name was changed, leaving simply Trafford FC. The club has stayed there since, at Shawe View on Pennybridge Lane, a ground that holds 2,500.
Promotion came fast in the early years: the North West Counties League Division Two title in 1995, then Division One two seasons later, that took the club to the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round in 1996–97 and again in 1998–99.
Kieran O'Hara, out on loan from Manchester United's academy that same season, was in goal for a side that also gave a young Jamie Vardy a start a few years earlier, long before Leicester City and the Premier League title. Paul Mullin passed through too.
The 2018–19 Integro Northern Premier League Cup, taken off Farsley Celtic, sits alongside a more recent return to form: the Northern Premier League Division One title in 2023–24.
