Volleyligaen (Denmark) 2026/27

VolleyLigaen is the premier men's volleyball competition in Denmark. The tournament is organized by the Dansk Volleyball Forbund, also known as Volleyball Danmark. It has operated since 1962, with the inaugural season concluding in 1962–63. The competition comprises ten teams, including Amager, ASV Elite, Gentofte, Hvidovre, Ikast, and Middelfart, among others.

The season follows a two-phase structure. The first phase is the regular season, or grundspil, which features a double round-robin format where every club plays each opponent twice. After this period, the top eight teams advance to the playoffs, known as slutspil. The quarter-finals are decided through best-of-three series, while the semi-finals and the final are contested over best-of-five matches. Teams that finish ninth and tenth, alongside the losing quarter-finalists, enter placement playoffs to determine final rankings and potential relegation.

Relegation sees the tenth-placed team drop directly to the 1. Division, contingent on eligible sides from the second tier applying for certification. The ninth-place finisher faces a similar threat depending on the number of certified teams from the 1. Division. Promotion from the 1. Division is restricted to teams finishing in the top three of their regional divisions, either East or West, provided they secure federation certification.

Odense Volleyball stands as the most successful entity in the league's history, claiming eighteen titles. Holte IF follows as the second most successful club with thirteen victories. The current champion is Odense Volleyball, who secured the title in the 2024–2025 season by defeating Gentofte Volley in the final. Since May 2023, the main sponsor has been Andelskassen, a Danish cooperative bank.

The men's division shares its structural framework with the women's VolleyLigaen. Both genders compete under identical formats and regulations, maintaining separate competitions for each category. The competition remains the highest tier for men's volleyball in the country.
