Guayaquil City came from behind to beat Técnico Universitario 3:2 in the Liga Pro Regular Season on Friday evening. The visitors took the lead twice after going behind, turning a 2:0 advantage into a narrow win at Estadio Bellavista.
Técnico started brighter. D. Armas gave them the lead in the 41st minute, and M. Castano doubled it five minutes later. By then Guayaquil had not yet shown much threat, and the hosts looked comfortable enough to see it out.
Then everything shifted. Guayaquil City came on level terms in the 64th minute through Y. Rodriguez, and M. Bolanos gave them the lead in the 69th. Técnico had turned to the kids in the middle of the half, but the visitors seized control with two quick goals.
The statistics tell a different story. Técnico dominated possession and created more attacks, but Guayaquil City were sharper in front of goal. Shots accuracy sat at 0.29 for the hosts against 0.53 for the visitors, and the difference showed on the board.
The result lifts Guayaquil City to ninth place on 36 points, while Técnico remain fourteenth on 29. The visitors extend their unbeaten run and leave the hosts with another loss to add to their recent streak.
