VSK Aarhus beat Fremad Amager 3-0 in the second round of the Second Division's Group 1 at home on Saturday. The hosts took all three points without much difficulty, extending a run that has put them second in the table with 13 points from six games.
J. Yderholm opened the scoring in the 40th minute, and then saw a penalty saved four minutes later. To be fair, the miss didn't derail the momentum — VSK kept pressing and found their way in again. The second goal came in the 53rd minute, and that was enough to settle any nerves.
And here's the thing about the 80th minute: a red card changed the shape of the game. Fremad had to reorganise with ten men, and you could see them pulling back deeper. By then, VSK were comfortable enough to control the tempo rather than chase another goal.
The third goal arrived in the 90th minute plus three, a late addition to the scoreboard. Fremad's away form has been stubborn — four draws from six games — but they haven't won since the opening round. The hosts, meanwhile, had lost only once in six matches before this one.
The gap between the sides in the table is now six points. VSK sit second with 13 and Fremad remain eighth on 7. It was a clean result for the home side, and one that keeps them within reach of the top of the group.
