About the player
Abat Aimbetov came through at FC Aktobe, where he began his professional career in 2012 and, after loan spells to develop, finished the 2019 season as the Kazakhstan Premier League's top scorer with 16 goals.
A free transfer took him to FC Kairat in 2020, where he won the league title in his first season. A brief move to Krylia Sovetov Samara in 2021 produced no competitive appearances before he returned to Kazakhstan on loan at FC Astana, a switch he made permanent in 2022 and which brought him another league title that year and a Super Cup in 2023.
In February 2024, Aimbetov left for Turkish football, joining Adana Demirspor on a free transfer. He was a regular in the Süper Lig across the 2024/2025 season, making 36 appearances and scoring six goals. He then had a short spell at Petrolul Ploiești in early 2026, featuring nine times and scoring once before returning to his first club, Aktobe.
Internationally, Aimbetov has become one of Kazakhstan's most consistent forwards, earning 45 caps and scoring nine goals for the national side, a tally that places him among the country's top four all-time scorers.
