About the player
Aksel Baran Potur grew up in Oslo playing for Abildsø IL and Skeid Fotball before a spell in Lillestrøm SK's youth ranks led him to KFUM Oslo, where he broke through with the reserve side and then the first team. A loan to Moss FK in 2021 turned into a permanent move the following year, and it was there that he built his reputation, making 69 league appearances and scoring twice across four seasons. In 2023 he was named the Norwegian First Division's Young Player of the Month, a period during which Turkish clubs Çaykur Rizespor, Sivasspor and Alanyaspor all made offers for him — offers he turned down.
Potur holds dual Norwegian and Turkish nationality and has represented Turkey at Under-21 level, winning eight caps in 2023 and 2024.
He joined HamKam as a free agent in December 2024 on a contract running to the end of 2027, continuing a career built entirely on free transfers rather than fees, whether through academy progression or expiring deals. Since arriving, he has made around 43 league appearances for the club, scoring four goals.
