About the player
Between 2012 and 2022 he made 213 appearances in the Bundesliga for the club, and along the way built a run of 102 consecutive league games without missing a single minute — a record for Admira.
Wearing the captain's armband, he led Ried to the 2. Liga title in 2024/25, sealed on 25 May 2025, and the promotion to the Bundesliga that came with it. He was named Goalkeeper of the Season for his part in the campaign, and along the way kept a club-record run of 738 minutes without conceding across 11 matches.
Leitner's path to Ried ran through several youth academies in his native Austria before Admira gave him his senior chance, and the club rewarded his form at Ried with a contract extension through 2028. He has not featured for the senior Austrian national team.
