Ried

Ried im Innkreis sits in Upper Austria, close to the Bavarian border.

The club traces back to 5 May 1912, founded as Sportvereinigung Ried.

Two Austrian Cup finals define what the club has to show for itself. In 1997–98, Ried beat Sturm Graz 3-1 to lift the trophy for the first time. The second final, in 2010–11, ended the other way: Red Bull Salzburg won 3-0, and Ried came away with nothing but the runners-up medal.

Home games are played at the BWT X Oberösterreichische Arena, a ground that has changed sponsors' names more often than it has changed size — it has also been known as the Josko Arena and the Keine Sorgen Arena — and holds 7,680. It is not a stadium built for European nights, and Ried have had to make do with what a provincial ground allows.

The one cup Ried can point to with certainty, from 1998, remains the club's only unqualified trophy in well over a century of playing.
