About the player
Sissoko's path to Reims began not through a scouting network at a big-name club but at Afrique Football Élite, the Malian academy where he came through as a forward before a move to Europe. Stade de Reims signed him on a free transfer in January 2024, on a contract running to 2028, betting on the raw physical profile — 187cm, right-footed — of a teenager rather than a finished product.
He has since made four senior appearances for Reims while also turning out for the club's reserve side, the kind of split workload typical of a young forward still being brought along rather than thrown straight into a starting role.
At international level, Sissoko has represented Mali's under-23 side, earning two caps without scoring, but has not yet featured for the senior national team.
