About the player
David Benjamin arrived at HamKam in April 2026 as a Nigerian forward, signed from Rivers United after two years in the Nigeria Professional Football League. The move to the Eliteserien takes him from Port Harcourt, where he was born, into Norwegian football, wearing the number 28 shirt for the Hamar club.
At Rivers United, Benjamin was part of a side that finished runner-up in the NPFL in successive seasons before his departure, having earlier claimed the title in 2021–22. He operates primarily on the left wing, though he can also play through the middle as an attacking midfielder, and his right foot is his stronger side.
The transfer fee HamKam paid for the 173cm forward was not disclosed by either club. He now joins a squad playing its football at Briskeby Arena.
