About the player
Erik Postner made his professional debut for 1. FC Nürnberg on 9 May 2025, in a 2. Bundesliga fixture against 1. FC Köln. The left-footed defender had spent that season with Nürnberg's reserve side, appearing 20 times in the Regionalliga Bayern and scoring five goals, before the first-team call came. By the end of the 2025/26 campaign he had added six more appearances at senior level in the 2. Bundesliga.
Postner's route to the first team ran entirely through Nürnberg's own structures. He joined the club's academy in 2018, having previously come through SC Eltersdorf and the youth system of SpVgg Greuther Fürth, and worked his way up through the U17 and U19 age groups before being promoted to the reserves and then the senior squad. That progression paid off in the 2025/26 season, when Nürnberg II, with Postner part of the squad, won the Regionalliga Bayern title.
He has not yet been capped by Germany at senior international level.
