Ibrahima Fofana

Ibrahima Fofana grew up playing for FC Atouga in Guinea before a spell with Diamants de Guinée, and left home early for a taste of French football with Ancienne Château-Gontier, where he made a single appearance in the Coupe de France against Chartres. His move to Club Brugge in September 2020 took him into the club's reserve side, Club NXT, where two seasons brought little first-team involvement but a place on the bench for a Europa League round-of-16 tie against Dynamo Kyiv, as Brugge won the Belgian title in 2020–21.

Fofana's path to regular football ran through Sweden. He joined Hammarby's reserve team, Hammarby Talang FF, in July 2022, and 26 appearances and seven goals earned him a four-year contract with the senior Hammarby squad in January 2023. He has since made over 48 appearances for the first team.

A loan to Kocaelispor in Turkey for the 2023–24 season proved eventful for the wrong reasons: alongside 14 appearances in the second-tier Lig, he was banned for three matches and fined by the Turkish federation's disciplinary board after biting an opponent, Ceyhun Gülselam of Altay. Kocaelispor did not take up the option to sign him permanently, and he returned to Hammarby in June 2024.

Internationally, Fofana progressed through Guinea's youth ranks, including a run to fourth place with the U23s at the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, before making his senior debut in 2025. In the current Allsvenskan season he has contributed a goal and an assist for Hammarby, with a strong record in aerial duels.
