Kevin Pina

The goal against Mozambique came in the campaign that took Cape Verde to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the country's qualification for the tournament, and Pina was one of the figures the side leaned on to get there.

His football began at the academy of Chadense, on the islands, before he left for Portugal and joined the youth setup at Oliveirense. He turned professional there in 2017, though the playing time came elsewhere: six appearances on loan at Anadia in the first half of 2018, then a full season at Sertanense that gave him 31 matches and two goals — the stretch that made him a first-team footballer rather than a prospect.

Chaves took him on a free transfer in July 2019 and started him in the B side. He worked his way up from there and left three years later with roughly 64 appearances across all competitions.

The move to Krasnodar in September 2022 was on a three-year contract, since extended to 2027. He settled into the team quickly and has been a regular through the club's strongest period: silver medals in the 2023–24 Russian Premier League, then the title itself in 2024–25, the first in the club's history to be won with him in the side.

He is right-footed but comfortable using both, which has let him be moved around the midfield rather than fixed to one slot.
