Massamba Sow

Massamba Sow's route into professional football ran through Clairefontaine. After starting out at US Ris-Orangis, the centre-back joined Stade de Reims in 2017 and spent time at the INF Clairefontaine academy, a stage of his development recognised in December 2021 when Reims named him "Academician of the Month" for his conduct and academic performance. His progress at Reims was gradual rather than immediate: he made just three appearances for the club's reserve side in Championnat National 2 before a move to FC Lorient B in July 2022, where he featured more regularly, playing 31 matches in the same division over two seasons.

A free transfer took him to Sporting Charleroi in July 2024, on a contract running to June 2026. He again started in the reserves, with Zébra Élites in the Eerste Nationale, where he scored twice in seven appearances before earning a first-team opportunity. His senior debut for Charleroi came on 3 November 2024 in a Jupiler Pro League match away to Cercle Brugge, a game his side lost 2–0. He went on to make further appearances in the Belgian top flight across the 2024/25 season.

Sow holds French citizenship and is of Senegalese descent, making him eligible to represent Senegal, though he has not so far been called up by either country at senior or youth level. At 193cm, he plays as a right-footed centre-back.
