Maxim Kireev

Maxim Kireev grew up in the Anderlecht academy, joining as a boy in 2013 and staying through to 2022, when he left as a free agent without a club to go to. He spent a year without a contract before K. Lierse SK signed him in July 2023, and it was there that he built his career, making his professional debut that August and going on to score six goals in 39 league appearances across two seasons.

A move to Willem II looked settled in February 2025, agreed for a fee in the region of €800,000. It never happened. Willem II's relegation from the Eredivisie triggered a clause voiding the transfer, and Lierse received no compensation for a deal that had already been struck. Kireev stayed on and eventually left for KV Mechelen in August 2025, signing a four-year contract for a fee of around the same amount. He made his debut for the club on 21 December against Sint-Truiden.

Born in Brussels, Kireev qualified to play for both Belgium and Belarus at youth level, turning out once for Belgium's under-15s before switching to represent Belarus at under-19. He made his senior debut for Belarus in a friendly against Montenegro in March 2024 and has since won around half a dozen caps without scoring.
