Osvaldo Alexis González Sepúlveda

Osvaldo González came through the Universidad de Concepción academy after starting out at Luis Acevedo in San Pedro de la Paz.

His career took him away from Concepción for long stretches in between. He first left for Universidad de Chile in 2009, then moved to Mexico's Toluca the following year in a transfer worth around €1.3 million, winning the Torneo Bicentenario with the Mexican side. He returned to Universidad de Chile on loan and later permanently, going back and forth between the two clubs before a further spell at Toluca and stints at Huachipato. At Universidad de Chile he built a substantial trophy collection, including four Primera División titles, two editions of the Copa Chile, a Supercopa and the 2011 Copa Sudamericana. In that continental run he scored the equalising goal against Vasco da Gama in the semi-final.

González also represented Chile at senior level, earning 14 caps between 2008 and 2015 after making his debut against South Korea, and he was part of the Chile under-23 squad at the 2008 Inter Continental Cup.

He returned to Universidad de Concepción in 2023, and his contract with the club runs until the end of 2026.
