Antonio Alejandro Díaz Campos

Antonio Díaz Campos began his youth career as a forward before being converted to a left-sided defender, a switch that came during his time in the Universidad de Chile academy, where he also represented the club at U-17 and U-20 level and took part in the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He made his senior debut at O'Higgins in 2018 and did not become a regular starter there until 2020, after which he settled into the side and went on to make 98 league appearances for the club, scoring twice, before leaving in July 2024.

That summer he returned to Universidad de Chile, where he made 13 league appearances without scoring. A loan spell followed in 2026, during which he made 14 league appearances and scored once — a goal that stood out for its timing. Introduced as a substitute in the 91st minute against Palestino on 31 August 2026, he scored the winner in the third minute of stoppage time.

Díaz's fullest run of success has come with Chile's youth sides. He won gold at the 2018 South American Games in Cochabamba with the Chile U-20 team, and silver at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago with the U-23s. Earlier still, as part of the Chile U-17 squad, he won the Tournoi de Limoges in 2017 and reached the final of that year's South American U-17 Championship, where Chile finished runners-up.
