Paul Will

Will's route to Fürth ran through a serious setback. He was still finding his feet at Darmstadt when a cruciate ligament injury in autumn 2024 kept him out for more than a year, restricting him to just nine appearances for the club he had joined on a free transfer. It was only in January 2026, on loan at Greuther Fürth, that he began playing regularly again, making 15 appearances in the second half of the season. That run of form was enough to convince Fürth to make the move permanent, and he signed a three-year contract with the club in the summer.

Before the injury, Will's best spell had come at Dynamo Dresden. He joined on a free transfer in August 2020 and was part of the squad that won the 3. Liga championship in his first season there, earning promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. He stayed on through the following campaign, in which Dresden finished 16th and went back down, and remained at the club until his contract expired in the summer of 2024. His path into professional football started in the Kaiserslautern academy, after coming through youth football with FV Breidenbach, VfB Marburg and TSG Wieseck. A free transfer took him to Bayern Munich II in 2018, where he made his professional debut a year later and scored in the Regionalliga Bayern, going on to make 39 appearances for the reserve side before his move to Dresden. At international level, he was capped twice for Germany's under-20 side, making his debut in September 2018.
